Effervescence is a sparkling wine lounge and restaurant located on the edge of the French Quarter that combines the fun, vibrant spirit of New Orleans with the luxury of Champagne.
About Us
Owner/Operator Crystal Hinds opened the concept in March 2017 as a way to bring her lifelong love for celebration and hospitality to fruition. The upscale casual dining room invites guests to come as they are to enjoy sparkling wine and celebrate the everyday!
The sparkling wine list spans the globe, and offers a curated list of exceptional bubbles at all price points- from affordable sparklers to renowned Grande Marque Champagnes. The menu boasts 200+ sparkling wines by the bottle, 30+ sparkling wines by the glass, and six unique sparkling flights that invite guests to explore regions, themes, styles or producers of bubbles. All sparkling by the glass selections are offered as full or half pours, to tempt guests with an indulgent taste of exceptional wines.
The cocktail program also features bubbles: all signature cocktails are topped with a sparkler from the list. Selections include original seasonal cocktails as well as classic sparkling cocktails. The full bar pours still wines, craft spirits, sherries, ciders, liqueurs, and naturally the Champagne of beers.
The food menu features casually luxurious bites and sharing plates, tailored to pair with sparkling wine. Dishes are created around high quality and locally sourced ingredients. effervescence proudly features local seafood, produce, wagyu beef, dairy and grains- supporting the local farms and small businesses that share our commitment to quality. Co-Executive Chefs Brenna Sanders and Evan Ingram showcase these ingredients in a fresh light presentation, incorporating worldly and innovative flavors that are rooted in both classic and fun, familiar cuisines.
Effervescence’s location on the Gulf coast of Louisiana dictates it’s signature dish- the Gulf Seafood Plateau. Here, five unique preparations of Gulf seafood are elevated with bright flavors and meticulous presentation. The Chefs’ concise but varied menu can be enjoyed as an afternoon snack, dinner with pairings, late-night dessert or Sunday brunch.
The polished setting, with gorgeous interiors and inviting courtyard, encourages guests to linger and enjoy. Housed in an 1890s Victorian center-hall cottage that was formerly a private residence, the space retains its historic charm, giving the restaurant an authentic French Quarter feel. A large U-shaped bar serves to-go drinks and wine on tap at the front, in addition to full drinking and dining experiences. A range of seating allows guests to choose their experience- sofas and comfortable lounge furniture flank the two fireplaces, small bistro tables provide a place for more intimate dining, and the large Champagne sharing table is perfect for sparkling parties. The back courtyard includes a coveted outdoor couch serves cozy outdoor nook where you can enjoy the garden and tranquil fountain.
Effervescence is a house dedicated to sparkling wine. We hope to continue to introduce new tastes and the bubbles we love to our guests and New Orleans. The effervescence team believes that life is too short to wait for a special occasion to pop the cork and encourages guests to celebrate the everyday. We look forward to clinking glasses with you soon!

executive chefsBrenna Sanders and Evan Ingram are the Executive Chef team of Effervescence. The small plates menu is reflective of their travels, bringing the refreshing and wholesome quality of Mediterranean cuisine to quality local ingredients and luxury products.
Evan, a California native, pursued an early interest in food and moved to New Orleans after attending culinary school in New York. He also recently officiated his passion for wine with sommelier credentials. Brenna grew up in Alabama and began her professional cooking career after completing her education at Tulane University.
Brenna and Evan both worked at Restaurant August where they set their fine-dining cooking foundation, met each other and subsequently began the rest of their lives. Seeking to expand their culinary repertoire, they moved to San Francisco to work in highly esteemed restaurants including Quince, Rich Table and Saison. In California, they adopted a rigorous uncompromising approach to product and quality ingredients in Michelin-rated kitchens.
Homesick for the culture and climate of New Orleans, they returned in search of a kitchen to create something new together. The couple began l’Américaine pop-up where they explored a rotating-theme retro menu.
Their love of bubbles led Brenna and Evan to Effervescence. In the small but well equipped kitchen they curate a focused menu that is fully produced in house. The chefs stay true to the food they like to cook and enjoy: bright, fresh and flavorful without abandoning health and wholesomeness- and above all, real, honest, quality ingredients.
