Housed in a beautifully restored 1912 firehouse, Engine Co. No. 28 has been putting out appetite fires since 1989 with classic American dishes inspired by the regional cooking of firehouses across the country.
The menu features a “signature” Meatloaf, New York Steak, Southern-style pan-fried chicken, crab cakes, Cobb salad, and Firehouse chili.
The weekly chef “specials” feature fresh grilled fish such as salmon, sea bass and seasonal vegetables. Daily soups include corn chowder, chicken tortilla lime, tomato basil, broccoli and many other rotating favorites.
The restaurant is reminiscent of the classic grills of San Francisco and New York – mahogany booths, white linen tables, granite bar and original brass fire pole – housed in a restored 1912 Los Angeles firehouse.
