When a tiny, light-filled space on Chestnut Street in the heart of San Francisco’s Marina neighborhood—just a quick walk to the harbor—became available in 2023, we knew our dream of an oyster bar had to finally happen.
Named after Joe’s dad, a retired sea captain who was once based out of Oakland, Popi’s was inspired by two of our favorite oyster bars in SF: tiny but mighty Anchor in the Castro as well as the iconic Swan’s.
