The name “Sessions” comes from the British term “session beers”. The story goes that during WWI in England, munitions workers had to take long breaks between double shifts. Those breaks were often taken at the local pub where the workers enjoyed multiple pints of ale along with lunch and lively conversation. In order to still be in working condition after the “session”, the workers would partake of the lower-in-alcohol but still very flavorful ales available. Hence, “session beers”.
Sessions has a unique partnership with Skywalker Ranch in Marin County. We receive deliveries from the Ranch of fruits, vegetables, herbs & olive oil. The meats and seafood served at Sessions are naturally raised and sustainably harvested. With these ingredients, our Culinary team creates refined and approachable dishes which reflect a sense of the place they call home.
Skywalker Ranch has given Sessions access to Skywalker Vineyards Estates with wines from their Marin County Estate, Chateau Margüi in Provence, France, & Il Convento del Viandante Del Cielo in Umbria.
And of course there is the beer. With a large selection of different craft beers, including 10 draft offerings, beer lovers are sure to find a perfect beer to pair with the delicious cuisine.
Specializing in seasonal small plates intended for sharing, Sessions at The Presidio is the perfect gathering place for social and private events of all types. We offer several packages to accommodate intimate dinners, receptions, corporate events, social gatherings, and full restaurant buy outs.
Sessions Private Dining Room is a private space, windowed off of the main dining room ideal for intimate gatherings. The room accommodates 24 guests for a seated meal or up to 30 for standing receptions. Featuring surrounding windows with views of the Letterman Park the Private Dining Room is a perfect gathering space for your next event, ranging from birthday dinner or company happy hour.
If you are looking for a party larger than 24, we have a space called the Presidio Room located behind our bar which accommodates up to 30 guests for a seated meal or up to 40 for standing receptions.
The Skywalker Room at Sessions accommodates 60 guests for a seated meal or up to 120 for standing receptions and features full length windows with sweeping views of the Palace of Fine Arts and Letterman Park. As caterer for Letterman Digital Arts Center’s campus, Sessions offers various catering options for your next corporate meeting, social reception or banquet event.
