The Safari Club Gulf Shores is the Gulf Coast’s most unique and exciting new dining experience. Led by critically acclaimed and very talented Executive Chef Greg Buschmohle, he and his team have created the most intriguing and favorable internationally inspired menu to be found in the area. From tantalizing small plates and handmade artisan wood fired pizzas to a full variety of seafood and meat selections cooked on an open wood fire.
As Alabama’s first certified “Green Restaurant”, we have been singled out by the Green Restaurant Group in Boston as a leader in conservation, recycling and reduced waste. We have made great strides to be an energy-efficient operation, we use no Styrofoam products, no plastic straws and all to-go containers are bio-degradable and or recyclable. We have teamed with the City Gulf Shores recycle program and instituted protocols for recycling a wide variety of waste.
We have onsite composting and work directly with our animal care staff to utilize every possible product for our animals. In order to reduce our carbon imprint we have taken measures to reduce the average 2 week and 1500 mile journey food products travel to their final destination by sourcing our ingredients locally. Not only are we contracting with local farmers, but we also have an on-site garden that will produce fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs.
We have extended our mindset in our bar area as well, at the BAR TUSK our motto is “Saving Elephants One Drink At A Time” and actually we are, as a percentage of profits go directly to small conservation efforts that are making a big difference in Elephant Conservation in Both Asia and Africa. With your help we can save the world’s most magnificent creatures.

Throughout the beautifully landscaped twenty-five acres of the new Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo we have integrated a variety of venues that can provide a unique location for your upcoming event. We have both indoor and outdoor locations. If you are unsure of which venue would best be suited to your event, one of our Event Planner consultants will be happy to make recommendations to you based on the number of guests and type of event you are hosting.

Our beautifully appointed restaurant is designed to provide a variety of choices to fit your event. From the Expedition Room, our private dining room, for small parties to the outdoor balcony overlooking the zoo for large cocktail parties and dinners.
Located in the heart of the zoo’s African Savannah, Savannah Manor is exquisitely furnished and overlooks the Lakes of Tambora Basin and Monkey Islands. The lakeside deck provides a perfect setting for wedding vows or corporate functions. A wrap around veranda can seat up to 150 for plated dinner or buffet inside the Manor.
The Event Center
Our event center can host dinners for up to 300 and cocktail parties for up to 500. A large stage provides the opportunity for entertainment and award ceremonies. Overlooking the Americas portion of the zoo is a great vantage point for the Main Stage on the grounds of the zoo and can be reserved for VIP viewing of our Outdoor Concert Series.
The African Bazaar is an exotic location with colorful sunshades and vendor booths. It is the perfect space for one-of-a-kind cocktail parties and can be combined with Savannah Manor for receptions and pre-parties.
Adventure Mountain is landscaped playground with climbing, sliding and balancing equipment to keep kids entertained during any event.
