The city of Solvang is well known for its old-world Danish-style architecture, Danish bakeries, wine tasting rooms, and boutique shopping. And, of course, our favorite attraction…the Solvang Certified Farmers’ Market. Drawing in locals from the immediate and surrounding towns, as well as a wave of tourists in the summer months, the Solvang farmers’ market offer’s the very best agricultural goods this area has to offer. Specializing in certified organic produce and flowers from the immediate Solvang, Santa Ynez, Los Olivos and Buellton areas, you can also find delicious peaches in the summer and sweet Satsuma mandarins in the winter. Fresh locally made pies, bread, pasta and muffins from Solvang’s own Creekside Apple Ranch is also a major draw. This market hosts 20-30 certified agricultural producers on a weekly basis, depending on the season. Live music can be enjoyed in the adjacent Solvang Park every 3rd Wednesday during the Summer and Fall months (solvang3rdwednesday.com). It is also a nice park for the kids to run around while you relax under one of the shady trees.
